Halloween Treat for You!

Hi everyone.  We of the RSD EDT thought we'd give you a touch of inspiration for making your Fall/Hallowe'en projects, maybe a bit of Thanksgiving thrown in for you U.S. peeps. After all Hallowe'en is getting very close, only a couple of months to go and you'll need to be prepared for all those trick or treaters.

The talented DT ladies decided on a couple of group posts using of course Rick St. Dennis MFA's pretty and more cutesy images on Sparkle and Glitter and the scarier images on the Airless Chambers blog. Lots to see, something for everyone's tastes, we hope you will enjoy.

The RSD gang have been thinking about organizing bloghops, you will all be invited to join if you'd like to, and there will be prizes to win. The hops will be on both our blogs, but we think two bloghops a month might be a bit too much, so we were thinking to do a hop on Sparkle and Glitter one month and a hop on Airless Chambers the next.
Please let us know what you think about this, we would very much appreciate your opinion and / or idea's about this. You can leave them  in the comments or if you'd rather email your thoughts and brilliant plans you can contact Monique.

Now before you gazing at the beauty here or go see the hauntingly spookiness of Airless Chambers, there's maybe some info about Halloween and Fall images that you were not aware of.  Of course you can go to Rick's Etsy shop for the digital images - check out the Halloween and The Crypt sections in particular. Did you know that Rick's images are available in rubber stamps as well? They are available at I Brake for Stamps and at the Smeared Ink Rubber club.

Enjoy the eye candy and please don't forget to leave us a comment with your thoughts on the Blog hops.

Outhouse Frame by Lisa

I know it's 2013, but outhouses ever REALLY go out of style?
I didn't think so either, so when I saw this hilarious and wonderful image titled Outhouse NOEL 2012 from Rick's Etsy shop, I knew it had to make its way to my mantel.

Here is my stand alone frame designed to bring a little smile and warm holiday wishes.

A close-up of the sentiment.....
If you love these, you'll love that Rick St. Dennis also has an entire line of other outhouses to adore!
For more pictures of this frame, please feel free to visit my blog,

Creative Corner Challenges sponsored by Rick

Morning everyone.
Rick is sponsoring lots of challenges at the moment meaning you are in with a very good chance of winning some of his fabulous images. For a list of the challenges that Rick is sponsoring, why not pop over to his blog and see it here.  It's always rewarding when we see your participation in these challenges using Rick's images and we love the diversity of the projects.

Today's the day for Creative Corner Challenges to be having an "Anything Goes" challenge with Rick. No excuses then if cards are not your favourite type of crafting.

I did make a card - using one of the super cute scarecrows in the Halloween section of Rick's Etsy shop.
This one is called "It's All About The Balance".

for more details on this - feel free to visit my blog.

It is with deepest regrets that I have to tell you I am suspending freebies on my blogs due to PINTEREST and those who use it to steal and share images.
Literally every freebie I have shared along with other images stolen from I BRAKE FOR STAMPS and other locations has found its way to Pinterest where it becomes virtually impossible to track down ALL the pinners.
Pinterest will remove the images at the site your report but not the various offshoot pins even though they track these pins and know who is on the pin string. I will continue to send freebies to my email fan list and the monthly challenges on my blogs will be based on those images.
In order to enter challenges you will have to be an email list subscriber-the challenges will still be help on Airless Chambers and Sparkle and Glitter.
Again, I am sorry to have to take this step; I’m sure many of you know that I love to share my images and have sent out MANY images free but this does not mean they are free to just anyone or that because they were free they can be shared.
I am not in great health and live, like many, on social security income-I have to supplement my income via my artwork-luckily I can still create, so income from my digis is VERY important to me.
People just don’t understand that pinning and sharing free images the way they do becomes stealing.
A very good example is this: My freebies tend to attract about 1,000 hits on my blog-I have never SOLD a thousand copies of any image but I have given away that many as people will grab anything that is free.
THREE CHIMENY COTTAGE was a free image on my blog then it was removed and went to my ETSY shoppe where it has been a very steady seller over the time it has been for sale-but how many sales have I LOST because the image was pinned and then REPINNED many times-like hundreds… This is just MY story there are many popular digi artists whose work is pinned ALL the time and as I said samples from IBFS of my images which were not watermarked were stolen and pinned as freebies again HUNDREDS of times.
When we confront the people who do this pinning they are usually cooperative but often just ignore any contact or worse are nasty and uncooperative and even spiteful and publish nasty comments on other social media sites or even their own blogs.
Thanks for your understanding and hopefully at some point I can go back to the monthly freebie on my blog.
PLEASE join the fight against image theft and let your friends know that sharing free images hurts the artist who shared that image in the first place.

Venetian Carnival

On this superhot day (and it's still quite early) I have a cheerful project for you to share, Venetian Carnival.

I used the some of the corners of the Dutch Paper Art line by Dutch Doobadoo.
Dutch Doobadoo will be available in the shops from this September on. You can buy Dutch Doobadoo at DOEADING

I made this accordion card with images by St Dennis and the gorgeous corners by Dutch Doobadoo.

The background is made with Dylusions ink.

Oh I just love to have inky fingers.

The recipe of my project

I coloured the corners with "goldfinger"by Daler Rowney.

August Freebie for SNG

It's the first Saturday of the month again, and you crafty people out there know that this means FREEBIE TIME on both this, the Sparkle and Glitter blog and on our sister blog, Airless Chambers. As usual Rick has drawn a cutesy digi for here and a more quirky image for Airless Chambers.
There is no contest for a couple of months because we thought we deserved summer break. Challenges will begin again in October.

The Airless Chambers crew are gearing up for that most wonderful time of the year - Hallowe'en; although I'm pretty sure there will be more than a few projects being showcased here on Sparkle and Glitter. That means you have only two months before those Hallowe'en projects need to be completed. So if you're in need some cutesy Hallowe'en (or more scary images) check out Rick's Etsy Shop.

If you love to play with RSD rubber go check out I Brake for Stamps or Smeared Ink you will find some absolutely fabulous stamps that will work great for all your Hallowe'en projects. Don't forget to keep checking back on both blogs for some awesome inspiration from the EDT girls (and Rick)

OK - on with showtime. Meet BITSY at the BEACH, isn't she is the cutest? Catch her quick because she will disappear again in 2 days from now.
Please don't share Bitsy, if you would think other people would like to play with her, send them a link to this blog so they can snag her themselves.

It would be great if you left a nice thank you comment for Rick and become a follower of the blogs after you snagged Bitsy and Tworki. That way, you'll be able to see what treats we have lined up for you all. We all appreciate a kind word now and again.

If you would like to receive Rick's newsletter you can sign up here. It's not just a newsletter, there can also be some nice discounts or an extra freebie in it.... (more freebies??!! Rick is a very generous man)

Below we have some coloured samples from Rick's very talented EDT. As there is no freebie challenge our beloved, but sometimes evil, Boss decided the EDT needed an extra twist. To make life just that bit more awkward.
The bathing costume of Bitsy and the horns of Tworki had to be in a colour which starts with the first letter of our name in the language we normally speak..............Yeah I know ....very evil twist....and some of us will have found that more difficult than others. We rose to the challenge and some of up topped it! Monique, for her cheek, had a different challenge though and you'll have to check her blog out for that.

On with the show......

Sponsoring Stampin for the Weekend

This fortnight Rick is sponsoring the challenge blog Stampin for the Weekend and as it happens I'm part of the design team there too :). My contribution is a tag using the image The vicarage scene, a background digi stamp that is wonderful on its own too.

Do check out the creations by the design team at SFTW, they are wonderful and show the versatility of Rick's stamps. And while you're at it, why not join the challenge for a chance to win some of Rick's images?

Have a great weekend / Heléne
