Betsy and Bunny in Dreamland

Here is some cute inspiration from me today.  For those who know I like dark stuff, yes, I am actually ill and feverish.  Apparently I make happy and pretty things when ill and dark, creepy stuff when well.  Perhaps I should speak to my shrink about this phenomenon?  LOL!  Click image to enlarge.  You can purchase the image, "Betsy and Bunny" here.  Click here to find the Rick St. Dennis Fans and friends group.

The Dark World of Carnivals

Hi!  Lady Brayton here!  I made some creepy fun inspiration for everyone today using Rick St. Dennis images, but the images are no longer offered as digital singles. Instead, pages upon pages of these awesome images as well as scenes can be found in Rick's "The Dark World of Carnivals" adult colouring book which is listed in the comments below.  This is brilliant because you don't have to think about what to create with the images.  You can just colour and enjoy!  Anyway, if you're looking for digital singles or sets, many other cool images can be found in Rick St Dennis Mfa's Etsy and Zibbet shops.  Also, both shops have instant downloads so you can have instant gratification. The zibbet shop has the more mainstream images and the Etsy shop has the darker images.

My piece is a mix of copic coloured images as well as digitally coloured images and the scene was created in Photoshop.  I added some elements and light effects from Mischief Circus, Gothic Inspirations, and Lotta Designs. Click the image to enlarge.  Cheers!

Jester Bear by Helene

I used this amazingly cute Jester Bear on my latest card. Coloured with Ranger's Distress Inks in the colours: Tumbled Glass, Candied Apple, Antique Linen, Walnut Stain and Scattered Straw. There is a whole series of bears made by Rick and I adore them all. Just a simple dry embossed background, no more decorations needed.

Euro Girl Denise the Artiste - Crafting Vicky

Hi everyone!  Hope you are all doing fabulous.  Today I'm here to share with you a very messy little journaling out of the box using the fabulous Euro Girl Denise The Artiste.

I say journaling out of the box because I have been making little journaling cards to place into an old disquette box.  I still have to embellish the box but I think it's very fun to make those little tiny journaling cards.  I'm using an old kid's game to journal on!  So recycling at it's best!  Love when I can transform something.

Anyway I have made a little video of my process including my finger painting :)

And here's the little card for you to see.

The image was colored with my copics and then fussy cut out.  I used some die cuts as well as a bunch of different sentiments that I have cut out of magazines.

I had lots of fun making this as you can see in the video!

You can check out how this was made on my blog post here.

Hope you like my inspiration. Check out all the other fabulous images in the Zibbet store or in the Etsy store!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Make Art with Denise the Artiste

Hi everyone. I had  a piece of this crazy background left over from a previous project and I wanted something artsy-related to be the focal. When I saw this Rick St. Dennis image called Euro Girl Denise the Artiste, I knew she would be the perfect choice. I decided to throw every bright colour at her and she how she turned out.

I coloured Denise with a mix of Polychromos and Prismacolor pencils. Her paint splotches were done with gel pens in Neon colours. Once finished, she was fussy cut leaving a narrow white border and then matted in black. Foam tape was added to the back of the image to adhere her to the background scrap and add a little dimension.

The background is 4.25 x 6 inches of mixed media paper which has been inked, stamped, and stencilled. The raised white harlequin pattern was done with embossing paste. The letters for ART and Make are stickers. The word art was shaded around with a Stabilo pencil and activated with a water brush. The same was done to the left side of the harlequin diamonds. Three little splotches were hand drawn and cut from sprayed scraps and layered to bring the paint splotches from the image to the background.

To complete the design, two lengths of washi tape were adhered to the background and threaded buttons were added. Doodling was used for a border and to outline various elements. White highlights were added to the letters in Art. Black Big Brush pen was used to ink around the edges and a black mat as well as a die cut scalloped edge were used to frame the piece.

Thanks for joining Denise and me today. We're so happy you did that.

Life is good; so is art.

At the end of this post is a little surprise for you so keep reading :-).

There is some fun challenges going on at the Rick St.dennis Fans and Friends group, there are 2 sets of Marco Raffine pencils to be won, go check it out here, you will find info in the pinned post and the challenge albums.

We are still looking foor some new EDT members all detail of the dt call are here, the DT CALL closes January 18th, so only few days left to apply.

Ok, here the wonderful works of my fellow teamies, enjoy

using Portia

Nicky using Dust Witch (retired)

 and using Undersea Ballet

Mo using Mall girl ( she comes in a sheet with 4 of her friends )

Here is the little surprise for you, a free downloadable colouring page (click on the image and save as)

This page is based on the art journal page I did, we thought it would be fun for the ones who are colouring and don't want to go messy with paints.
So if you want to have a go at art journalling, but don't know where to start or don;t have the supplies needed, this might be fun. You can print on any paper you like because I know markers and watercolour pencils don't go well with most colouring book pages, all you need to do is colour and maybe add some doodeling of your own.  We like to hear if you would like more of these kind of pages, if you do some can me made as colouring pages and be sold in Zibbet or Etsy, so ideas, thoughts and coments are very welcome , enjoy.

Hi everyone. It's Bonnie here today with a mixed media piece. As soon as I saw this fabulous image in Rick's Zibbet shop, I knew just how I wanted to colour her, especially her big hair. She is over-the-top in-your-face and exudes such confidence. Love her! Her name is Moonbeam and that helped me decide how to do the background.

I coloured Moonbeam with my usual mix of Polychromos and Prismacolor pencils. She was then fussy cut with a narrow white border, matted in black cardstock, and trimmed out again. She was then popped up on foam tape and asked to amuse herself while waiting for the background.

The 6 x 8 inch rectangle of mixed media paper was spritzed with Drop Dead Gorgeous Green and Freaky Frankenlime Lindy's Starburst sprays through Joggles Cyclone stencil. I love the retro swirl effect...psychadelic. Haha! Once dry, more spirals were stamped with Viridian Archival ink. Scraps of tissue wrap printed with text were torn and adhered with gel medium. Two different washi tapes were adhered to white cardstock, trimmed and added to three spots. Black Dylusions paint was pounced through TCW's Mini Texturized stencil to add pops of contrast and more pattern/texture.

The computer generated sentiment was printed on white cardstock, trimmed out, and matted with black. Foam tape added dimension. Three green flower(power) brads were added to the page: two through the yellow washi tape and one through a stitched felt flower button. Black pearls were adhered to the centers to draw attention to them and emphasize the visual triangle. The page was edged with Black Big Brush pen and matted with black cardstock to frame it.

Thanks for popping by today. Moonbeam and I hope you enjoyed your trip back to the seventies...LOL. Such a fun image!

Happy New Year and the start of a new Progressive Challenge

Good morning everyone. Here's hoping those heads aren't feeling too fragile this morning after last night's festivities. Well, I'm sure some of you will have not succumbed and went to bed before "The Bells" as we say in the UK.
We on the EDT hope that those of you that do celebrate Christmas had a fantastic time and that you and your families spent precious time together and that Santa was good to you. Did anyone get any of Rick's Colouring books in their stockings? Or maybe some other crafty goodness?  Please let us know.  If you still have a few pennies to spend on yourself - why not treat yourself with a book or 3. Details are above on their own tab.
For those that don't celebrate, we hope you and your families were able to enjoy some together time as well over the weekend. Family time memories are to be treasured.

This month also says goodbye to Deborah. Please visit the post before this and leave her some love. We wish her all the best in her future.

Well a new month always heralds the start of a new Progressive Challenge and this is no exception.
Before the EDT projects we have a winner from the last Progressive challenge. Mr Random gets a look in here as we can never decide who to choose and he chose .........
With this sample of sparkly gorgeousness using the specified image for December

We're a bit light on the EDT inspiration today but I'm sure you guys will make up for that and get those "Anything Goes using an RSD image" projects linked up so that we can come and be inspired by YOU. Bonnie and Monique have produced these fabulous projects

using Helene Hartz

using: Deborah hatlady

Mr linky is, as always, to be found in his own tab up top. That way he can't hide.
